Sweet potato fries can be served as a snack or as a side dish with a variety of main courses, such as burgers, sandwiches, or grilled meats. They are often seasoned with a variety of spices, such as salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, or cumin, and may be served with dipping sauces, such as ketchup or mayonnaise. Sweet potato fries are a popular choice for people looking for a healthier alternative to regular fries made from white potatoes, as sweet potatoes are a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Seasoning of your choice (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  • Wash and dry the sweet potatoes.
  • Cut them into thin wedges and place them in a large bowl.
  • Add the olive oil, salt, pepper, and seasoning (if using) and mix well so that the sweet potatoes are well coated.
  • Place the sweet potatoes on a greased baking sheet or a sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

  • Tip: You can also fry the sweet potatoes in hot oil in a pan if you prefer. Simply place the sweet potato wedges in a pan with hot oil and cook until they are golden and crispy.
